Why Discord?

And Why It Matters To Join

Okay, I get it – you signed up for a Bootcamp, not for another app to install. Fair enough.

But here’s the thing: the Bootcamp isn’t just the live sessions. A big part of the entire experience happens between the sessions: and that’s where Discord comes in.

During the Bootcamp, you’re going to get stuck at some point. Everyone does, that’s just the nature of learning Unreal. And when that happens, you have two options.

Option A: you sit there, Google around for 30 minutes, get frustrated, and close the project for the day.

Option B: you drop a quick message on Discord, attach a screenshot – and either I or someone from the community quickly helps you get unstuck. You fix it, you move on, you keep the momentum.

That difference is often what decides whether someone finishes the Bootcamp or quietly drops off after the second day.

Here's What You're Missing Without Discord:

Direct access to me. I check Discord regularly and answer questions personally during the Bootcamp.

A community of people doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. You’d be surprised how much you learn just from reading other people’s questions: because chances are, you’ll run into the same issues.

Prep content that gets you ready before the first live session. The emails give you a taste, but the full version lives on Discord.

"But I'm Not on Discord..."

No problem – Discord is free and signing up takes about 2 minutes. Think of it like Messenger, just way more organized and honestly, nicer to use.

Here’s the quick setup:

Step 1: Head to discord.com/register and create your account by filling out the form

Step 2: Confirm your registration in the verification email you get

Step 3: Go to Discord’s home page again and click ‘Open Discord’ in the upper right corner

Step 4: Click the invite link above

That’s it!

Discord is best used through the dedicated apps rather than in a web browser: download the app for both PC (using this link) and your mobile phone (via Google Play), install them and login from these devices.
